Immigration Psychiatric Evaluations
Immigration matters can involve deeply personal histories of separation, trauma, abuse, persecution, caregiving and uncertainty. A psychiatric evaluation can provide clinical documentation of mental health symptoms, diagnoses and functional impact when that information is relevant to an immigration matter.
Mabel provides bilingual psychiatric evaluations in English and Spanish and can coordinate with an immigration attorney when the client provides appropriate written authorization.

The evaluation includes an in-depth psychiatric assessment, review of relevant clinical information, diagnostic impressions and ICD-10 diagnostic coding when clinically supported, and written documentation appropriate to the agreed referral question.
The exact scope and fee are confirmed before the appointment. Cases requiring unusually extensive record review, additional professional consultation or documentation beyond the standard evaluation may require an additional fee disclosed in advance.
Medication management or ongoing psychiatric treatment, when clinically appropriate and legally permissible, is a separate clinical service and is not required as part of the immigration evaluation.
For Immigration Attorneys
Attorney referrals are welcome. Before the evaluation, the referral question and relevant documentation can be clarified so the assessment remains focused on the clinical issues relevant to the matter.

Adult ADHD Evaluation

ADHD in adults does not always look like obvious hyperactivity. Many adults, particularly women, seek evaluation after years of procrastination, inconsistent focus, disorganization, forgetfulness, time-management difficulties, mental overload or difficulty finishing what they start.
A comprehensive ADHD evaluation considers more than a screening questionnaire. The assessment examines the history and pattern of symptoms, developmental and academic history when relevant, daily functioning and other psychiatric or medical conditions that may resemble or worsen attention difficulties.
An ADHD evaluation may include:
- Detailed psychiatric interview
- Current attention and executive-function concerns
- Childhood and developmental history
- Academic and occupational history
- Clinically appropriate ADHD rating scales

Laboratory testing may be considered when the clinical history suggests a medical condition may be contributing to symptoms, but laboratory testing does not diagnose ADHD.

Does an immigration evaluation guarantee a legal result?
No. A psychiatric evaluation provides independent clinical assessment and documentation. It does not determine immigration eligibility or guarantee the outcome of a legal matter.
Can evaluations be completed by telehealth?
Some evaluations may be completed by telehealth when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable laws, regulations and evaluation requirements. Eligibility is confirmed before scheduling.
